Sarah Rees joins IVCC as Public Health Portfolio Manager

IVCC is pleased to welcome Sarah Rees to its team, taking the role of Portfolio Manager previously held by Robert Sloss, who retired back in April.

Sarah joins IVCC following a 30 year career in agrochemical research and development with Syngenta and its legacy companies.  She has held a variety of biotechnology and crop protection R&D roles and has considerable experience in technical management and portfolio leadership in all aspects of product development, from the generation and evaluation of ideas to project management from discovery through to launch. Sarah has a degree in Plant Sciences from King’s College, London and a PhD in Phytochemical Insect Antifeedants from Reading University.

Welcoming Sarah to IVCC, Nick Hamon, IVCC CEO, said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome Sarah to the IVCC team. IVCC’s mission to deliver new public health tools and solutions is at an exciting stage in its lifecycle after 10 years, with several new active ingredients entering the development phase and a portfolio of repurposed IRS and LLIN options recently delivered or in the pipeline. Sarah will play a vital part in helping IVCC finish the task it was set up to do, delivering on its mission of saving lives through vector control technology.’

Sarah said: ‘I am delighted to be joining IVCC at this exciting time and look forward to working with our partners to harness our collective expertise in the development of novel vector control agents with a potential to make a real difference to lives and communities.’

Sarah will be based in IVCC's Liverpool office.
