Janet is currently Professor of Insect Molecular Biology and Director of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. She has 30 years experience in biochemistry and molecular biology of specific enzyme systems associated with xenobiotic resistance and is PI on several projects worldwide. She was inaugurated as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2006, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008 and conferred as Honorary Doctor of Science by Sheffield University in 2009.
