SUMMARY:IVCC at the third Global Health Security Conference
DESCRIPTION:IVCC participated in the 2024 Global Health Security Conference in Sydney\, from the 18th to the 21st of June. \n \nThe event brought together leaders\, researchers\, policy makers and representatives from private industry\, international organisations and civil society. Discussions focused on strengthening health systems and explored ways to improve global responses to the most pressing health challenges. \nIVCC was represented by Justin McBeath\, CEO and Chris Larkin\, Director of Operations & Communications. Together\, they participated in a range of sessions\, including a side event facilitated by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade which brought together a range of Product Development Partnerships (e.g. IVCC\, MMV\, TB Alliance) to discuss areas of common challenge and opportunity with a particular focus on advancing Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GEDSI). The event\, coordinated by STOPAIDS and WACI Health\, forms part of a UK–South Africa parliamentary exchange visit and will bring together MPs\, peers\, and a South African delegation led by senior health and social development leaders. \nIVCC will host a display booth highlighting the New Nets Project\, delivered in partnership with Unitaid\, to showcase how UK-based research and innovation are helping tackle malaria and advance global health impact. \nThe exhibition will provide a unique opportunity to share case studies\, innovations\, and UK–South Africa collaborations with decision-makers\, reinforcing the vital role of UK expertise in progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
