David is a member of the IVCC Management Committee and is responsible for the development and delivery of the Access components of IVCC’s strategy. He also oversees the implementation of forecasting and market shaping projects to ensure wide-scale access to all vector control tools developed with support from IVCC. David has worked for the past 30 years designing and managing public-private partnerships to increase the availability and use of health products and services related to maternal &child health, HIV/AIDS and malaria. Since joining IVCC in 2015 David has led successful efforts under the Next Generation IRS (NgenIRS) project and New Nets Project (NNP) to expand access to IRS and dual active ingredient bednets through partnerships involving national malaria programmes, donors, implementers, manufacturers, mining companies and NGOs. David is currently leading efforts to further expand the availability of vector control tools through innovative private sector funding and distribution models focused on High Burden/High Impact countries.
David graduated from the University of Vermont and completed his graduate studies in International Relations at L’Institut Européen des Hautes Études Internationales in Nice, France and earned a certificate in Global Strategic Management through the Harvard Business School’s Executive Training Program and is fluent in French. Serving since 1991 in management and leadership positions in the USA, Asia and Africa, he has become a thought leader in public/private partnerships for health. He was a founding member of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership’s Vector Control Working Group, has served on the Private Sector Delegation to the RBM Board and has presented congressional testimony regarding market-based approaches to malaria control. David has also been a contributor and advisor to international organisations, private companies and academia.
