Dr Amelie Wamba Ndongmo Regine is a Project Officer Consultant at IVCC working on the ITN pillar.

Amelie has a PhD in Biochemistry and public health expert specialising in molecular biology and medical entomology. She most recently served as the Project Coordinator for the African Gene Drive for Vector Control Network at the Pan-African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA), where she led initiatives to educate and inform different stakeholder groups on the potential use of genetic biocontrol technologies like gene drives in public health and agriculture in Africa. She is a dedicated advocate for malaria elimination, she also serves as a Malaria Advocate with the Global Fund Advocates Network (GFAN) since 2023.

Amelie’s career is defined by a blend of high-level research and strategic leadership. She conducted pivotal research for her PhD on insecticide resistance at the Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) and has held various supervisory roles in health data collection. Her commitment to excellence is backed by her completion of the Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) Training Program for senior health officers (2024) and her status as a Mandela Washington Fellow (2019).

In March 2025, her ability to bridge the gap between complex science and public understanding was recognised with the Science Communications Award from the African Genetic Biocontrol Consortium. Amelie is fully bilingual in English and French and possesses extensive experience working across several sub-Saharan African countries, including East, West, Central and Southern African countries. She holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Amelie is the proud mother of a 21-month-old baby boy. She finds great fulfilment in balancing her rigorous scientific and public health work with a vibrant family life, believing that this balance fuels her passion for creating a healthier future for the next generation.
