Dr. Julie-Anne Akiko Tangena is a Technical Manager at IVCC, supporting the development and launch of innovative vector control products. Her work focuses on the durability, community acceptance, and effective use of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs). She also coordinates the IVCC modelling network and collaborates with stakeholders to strengthen vector control forecasting.

Julie-Anne holds an MSc in Biology (Medical Entomology) from Wageningen University, an MRes in Global Health from Lancaster University, and a PhD from Durham University on vector-borne disease risk in migrant populations of Lao PDR. She has led multi-country projects across Lao PDR and Côte d’Ivoire within the Institut Pasteur network and contributed to implementation studies across Africa and Asia.

As an MRC Skills Development Fellow (2019) at LSTM and Lancaster University, she advanced the use of malaria vector data for evidence-based decision-making. With extensive field and lab experience, she is dedicated to capacity building and sustainable malaria control.
