Dr Virgile Gnanguenon is a Country Engagement Manager at IVCC working on the portfolio and access team.
Virgile is a public health and medical entomology expert with over 17 years of experience spearheading malaria control initiatives across Africa. Holding both an MPH and a PhD, he served as a Malaria Program Specialist with USAID/PMI in Benin for 4 years and spent 5 years as Chief of Party for the PMI Africa Indoor Residual Spraying (AIRS) and PMI VectorLink projects with Abt Associates in Burundi. He also dedicated around 9 years as Entomologist at CREC in Benin. He speaks French and English and holds specialized certifications in Project and Program Management, Global Health Diplomacy, Diplomatic Practice, and Humanitarian Law.
He has a proven track record of cultivating robust partnerships with National Malaria Programs, donor agencies, and regional networks. He has represented PMI and international partners at high-level technical meetings, contributed to national malaria strategies, and co-designed malaria projects.
Virgile is a father to four children. He likes reading and is a cinema enthusiast.
