Jason provides matrix support to a wide range of projects to develop and deliver new vector control tools, with a focus on innovation and outdoor/residual transmission. Jason graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in biology from Vanderbilt University. He also has a Master of Science in Entomology from Clemson University and a PhD in Microbiology from Colorado State University. He joined IVCC after he retired from the U.S. Army, after serving 22 years as a medical entomologist. Key positions during his military career included: Director of the Entomology Program of the Walter Reed Project in Kenya, Director of Department of Entomology at the Armed Forces Research Institute Medical Sciences (AFRIMS) in Thailand and Chief of the Entomology Branch at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). He concluded his military career managing and directing translational research programs focused on developing new tools to prevent mosquito-borne diseases (as the Program Manager of the Deployed Warfighter Protection Program and the Research Liaison Officer at the Armed Forces Pest Management Board).
