IVCC attended the BASF Public Health “Meeting the Moment on Innovation” roundtable on 17 March 2026 in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The event, held as part of the Global Fund Private Sector Constituency (PSC) Annual Meeting, convened senior leaders from global health, government, philanthropy, and industry to examine the role of innovation and public-private partnerships in advancing the control, elimination, and eradication of infectious diseases.

Hosted by BASF Public Health, the roundtable brought together representatives from the Global Fund, the Gates Foundation, the Carter CenterHarvard University, and MedAccess, alongside members of the Global Fund Private Sector Constituency.

The discussions focused on the importance of sustained investment in innovation and the role of cross-sector collaboration in advancing new health technologies. Participants highlighted the importance of sustained investment across the research and development pipeline, alongside stronger collaboration between sectors to support the introduction and uptake of new health technologies in endemic settings.

A key theme was the value of long-standing public-private partnerships in driving impact against diseases such as malaria and neglected tropical diseases, and the need to evolve these models to respond to emerging challenges, including insecticide resistance and changing funding landscapes.

For IVCC, these discussions reinforce the importance of its partnership-driven approach to innovation. By working across industry, academia, funders and country programmes, IVCC supports the development and introduction of next-generation vector control tools, ensuring they protect health, save lives, and contribute to the fight against malaria and other vector-borne diseases.

Chris Larkin, Director of Communications and Operations at IVCC, represented IVCC at the event.
