IVCC visits partners in China to advance next-generation mosquito net development

Back

In October 2025, members of the Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC) team visited China to meet with partners Mitsui Chemicals Crop & Life Solutions Inc (MCCLS), Disease Control Technologies (DCT), and Avient to review progress on the TENEBENAL™ insecticide-treated net (ITN) project.

The collaboration focuses on developing an ITN product with a new mode of action to help combat insecticide resistance in the field.

As part of the visit, partners toured the Vector Control Laboratory and Masterbatch Manufacturing Line located at Avient’s R&D facility in Guangzhou. The facility plays an important role in advancing research and development of novel active ingredients used in insecticide-treated nets.

Derric Nimmo, IVCC Director of Technical Development, said

“The partnership with MCCLS, DCT, and Avient reflects the power of collaboration in innovation. By working together, we are advancing solutions that can help sustain vector control effectiveness and save lives.”

The visit reaffirmed IVCC’s ongoing role in connecting industry partners, technical expertise, and research capability to accelerate the development of new vector control products that address emerging challenges in the field.
