IVCC is recruiting two Technical Officers to provide technical coordination and scientific support across our vector control development projects. Based in Liverpool, these roles offer the opportunity to work at the interface of research and product development, supporting new tools to prevent malaria and other vector-borne diseases.
As a Product Development Partnership (PDP), IVCC works with industry, academic and other partner organisations to support the development of new vector control products. You will provide technical coordination and scientific support across IVCC projects, supporting the coordination of technical activities, information management, research findings and technical documentation.
The two positions have different pillar focuses.
Role 1: Technical Officer, insecticide-treated nets pillar
You will support our insecticide-treated net (ITN) pillar team, helping coordinate laboratory and field trials, review and present research findings, and contribute to data management and statistical analysis. You will also monitor scientific literature and extract key findings from datasets and partner reports.
Role 2: Technical Officer, spatial emanator pillar
You will primarily support our spatial emanator pillar team, working on products that release active ingredients into the air to reduce mosquito bites. You will also provide additional support across outdoor transmission and active ingredient discovery activities.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and quality-checking technical documents, interpreting scientific data, coordinating project meetings and supporting laboratory and semi-field activities. You will also contribute to experimental design discussions and methods development and validation.
Who we’re looking for
We welcome candidates with an MSc in Entomology or Biological Sciences, or relevant field experience, and familiarity with insect vector control, malaria, and/or neglected tropical diseases.
You should bring experience in processing and interpreting scientific datasets and working with stakeholders, strong communication and organisational skills, and careful attention to documentation and data quality.
Some international travel may be required to support partner engagement and project delivery.
