IVCC’s External Scientific Advisory Committee (ESAC) is looking for experts in toxicology and formulation to support the assessment of vector control products.
This call is open to experts with, among other requirements.
Toxicology requirements:
- A BSc in chemical or life science, plus either a MSc or PhD in toxicology, or postgraduate experience in toxicology
• At least five years of toxicology experience in the agrochemical or related sectors
• Strong knowledge of toxicology principles and the scientific basis for toxicity testing
• Experience reviewing and interpreting laboratory and field toxicology studies for product registration and safety monitoring
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for chemicals, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals or animal health products
Formulation requirements:
We are seeking expertise in addressing formulation challenges such as:
- Optimising insecticide efficacy and longevity, especially with ITNs and incorporated and coated formulations
- Minimising environmental impact
- Exploring new active ingredients with unique properties and formulation requirements/innovations
- Ensuring product stability and quality
- An understanding of the challenges of meeting the cost of goods targets
- Ensuring product manufacturability.
The ESAC provides specialist technical assessments of IVCC’s portfolio, including decisions on project selection, transition and termination. Members advise the IVCC management team during periodic reviews and contribute expert insight across laboratory, field and regulatory workstreams. Membership is through nomination of candidates who meet the required expertise.
