IVCC is launching two separate calls for partners in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) to support the development of malaria vector control interventions:
- Field product testing
- Field research
For each call, two partners will be selected: one based in Central or West Africa, and one in South or East Africa. Applicants may apply to both calls but must submit separate applications.
These partnerships aim to strengthen locally led research capacity and generate high-quality evidence to support the development, evaluation, and deployment of vector control tools.
1. Field Product Testing Requirements
- Partners should be a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) accredited vector control facility, or demonstrate that they are close to achieving GLP accreditation.
- Selected partners should be able to support laboratory and semi-field activities, including;
– Insecticide susceptibility assays
– Laboratory bioassays (e.g. cone and tunnel tests)
– Experimental hut trials or other semi-field trials
2. Field Research Requirements
- Partners should be recognised thought leaders in vector control, with a strong track record of research, publications, and/or contributions to policy documents
- GLP accreditation is not required, but partners must demonstrate systems aligned with Good Laboratory Practice (e.g. SOPs, staff training records, data management systems, and internal quality assurance).
- Selected partners should be able to support desk-based, laboratory, and semi-field activities, including;
– Literature reviews
– Laboratory bioassays (e.g. cone and tunnel tests)
– Experimental hut trials or other semi-field trials
