IVCC attended the Gallery of Global Health Game Changers, hosted by the Global Health Technologies Coalition (GHTC) on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, 21 January 2026. The event brought together policymakers, funders, and innovators to highlight how US investment is driving progress against major global health threats.

Dr Christen Fornadel, Senior Technical Coordinator, represented IVCC at the event, where Interceptor G2, a next-generation insecticide-treated net (ITN) designed to combat malaria, was featured as part of the interactive showcase. Interceptor G2, developed by BASF and IVCC, contains a chlorfenapyr component manufactured in the US, underlining the role of American-backed innovation in global health delivery.

Attendees showed strong interest in the evidence from the New Nets Project. Conversations focused on the impact of next-generation ITNs, such as Interceptor G2. New research from the Malaria Atlas Project (MAP) has calculated that next-generation ITNs have already prevented 40 million additional malaria cases, despite only partial roll-out.

The event reinforced the importance of sustained investment in research and development to deliver life-saving tools and accelerate progress against vector-borne diseases. GHTC’s full coverage of the event provides additional details on the range of US-backed global health innovations showcased.
