IVCC joins malaria discussions at Labour Party Conference

Back

IVCC joined roundtable and panel discussions at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, organised by Malaria No More UK.

The sessions highlighted the UK’s ongoing investment in malaria research, innovation, public health, and economic strength.

The panel discussion was moderated by journalist and former BBC Global Health Correspondent Tulip Mazumdar and featured contributions from Dr Lauren Sullivan MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases, and Sam Carling MP for North West Cambridgeshire.

Attendees included key partners from research, policy, and industry.

Chris Larkin, IVCC Director of Communications, who spoke on the panel, said:

“The UK leads in developing new malaria-fighting tools. This discussion showed how collaboration across science, policy, and industry can speed progress against one of the world’s deadliest diseases.”

IVCC also attended a BB Lab panel discussion on the future of aid and development in an era of defence and security, hosted by the Eleanor Crook Foundation. Tan Dhesi, MP for Slough and Chair of the Defence Committee, took part in the discussion. We were pleased that Mr Dhesi highlighted his recent visit to Ghana with IVCC and Malaria No More UK.
